OLD GLORY NARRATION
I am the flag of the United States of America.
I fly in every seat of government throughout this great Nation.
I stand watch in America’s                                    Halls of Justice. I fly majestically over institutions of learning, large and small I stand quietly in places of worship.
I stand guard withthe greatest military force the world has ever known.
Look up!
See me!
I have slipped the bonds of earth and from my vantage point on the moon stand watch over the uncharted new frontiers of space.
I stand for peace, honor, truth and justice.
I stand for freedom. I am proud and confident!
When I stand with other flags, my head is higher, my colors brighter.
I bow to no one!
I am recognized in every corner of the globe.
I am respected, loved and at times, feared.
Together with my predecessors, I have been in every conflict our people have fought for over 225 years: I was there in the War of Independence, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, here on this very spot, this sacred land soaked with the blood of America’s sons in the battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness and Spotsylvania Courthouse during the Civil War, San Juan Hill, the trenches of France, the Argonne Forest, Anzio, the beaches of Normandy, the Ardennes, the islands of the Pacific, the rice paddies of Korea, the jungles of Vietnam.
At this very moment I am in the heat and sands of the Persian Gulf and the rugged mountains of Afghanistan.and I have been in scores of other places long forgotten by almost all but by  those who were there with me.
I led my soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, coast guardsmen and merchant mariners.
I watched over them. At times I was battle worn and tired but my soldiers cheered me and I was proud.
I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled on by many who are the enemies of the United States of America and sadly, on the streets of those countries I have helped to set free and I have not wavered.
But when it has happened in the streets of my own country, particularly by those with whom I served in battle, it hurts. But I shall overcome for I am strong and filled with the certain knowledge that freedom is the destiny  of all men. However, those who would destroy me cannot win for I am the symbol of freedom for one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
America has been attacked by cowards and many lives have been lost.
I have been a silent witness to all of America’s finest hours yet my finest occurs when I am torn in strips to be used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the field of battle and when I fly at half staff to honor all those who served our Nation.
But when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving mother or wife at the graveside of a fallen son or husband, I am humble and full of incomparable gratitude for the enormous sacrifice each of them has made!
My name is “Old Glory”
Long may I wave!
Almighty and Eternal God --- long may I wave!
